Marie
a student at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. I practice both printmaking and drawing, and prefer to deal with the boundaries between these techniques in a flexible way.
The connection between technique and image is obvious to me. I love to attach value to hues instead of tones, monochrome units where shadow is of the utmost importance. I am drawn to the household as a ritual and the family as a whole.
My entourage, that’s where I am at home. Therefore, this is my main source of inspiration.
My own mundanity, in which I find myself and know everything about, gives me the opportunity to make simplicity exciting.
Many ideas are waiting for me.
